Your Journey
The addon remembers where each character has been: the roads you ran, the zones you reached, every ding and every death. Look back on it in game, open it on the website as a map you can replay, and share a link to it if you want to.
Three steps, each one yours to take
-
The addon records it, on your PC
Recording is on from the start and stays in the addon's file on your PC. Nothing about your journey leaves it yet. In game.
-
You turn on uploading
/ley journey share onadds your trail and moments to the tray's uploads. Then your journey shows on the website, where only you can see it. On the website. -
You share a link, if you like
On the website, tick Share this journey for one character to get a link anyone can open. Untick it and the link stops working. Sharing.
In game
The trail
Where you stand, every 2 seconds once you've moved a few yards, marked when you're on a flight, a boat, mounted, swimming, in combat or a ghost. It pauses inside dungeons and raids.
The moments
Logging in, reloading and logging out, each new zone, each level, your gold going up and down, and each death with what killed you (from the game's death recap; in PvP, a player's name), the release and the way back to life.
On the world map
/ley journey show, or the Journey button on the world map, draws
the trail coloured by level, with pins for dings, deaths and dungeons. It is hidden again at
every login and /reload.
The panel, replay and card
panel (or the map's List button) lists it by Chapters, Levels,
Deaths, Dungeons, Travel and Gold. replay plays it back at 1, 5 or 20 minutes a
second. card dresses the map at 16:9 for a screenshot.

Each character keeps up to 60,000 trail points and 2,000 moments; past that the oldest stretches
are thinned out, not dropped. /ley reset confirm wipes the journey with everything
else.
On the website
Once sharing is on and the tray has uploaded, log in and open Journey. Each character with a journey gets a card saying its level, how much was recorded, and whether it is Shared or Private. Characters from the beta carry a beta tag.
The map
The whole world, with your trail drawn over the zone maps, dashed lines for flights and boat rides, and markers for dings, deaths, quests, dungeons and logins. Click one for what happened there.
The replay
Play, pause, drag to any point, and pick 1×, 10× or 60×. A marker walks the trail and the clock shows when you were there.
The numbers
Hours played, days on the road (or days to the level cap once you're there), deaths and miles walked.
Chapters and moments
The journey split into chapters (click one to fly the map there), and every moment in order, joined with your quest turn-ins, dungeon runs and flights from the rest of your uploads.
Sharing a link
On a character's journey page, tick Share this journey. You get a link like
leymaps.com/journey/… with a copy button. It is a second choice, separate from
uploading: uploading puts your journey on the site for you, the link shows it to others.
- Anyone with the link sees that one character's journey: its name, realm, level, race and class, the trail, when you played, your dings, deaths and what killed you, the quests you turned in, your dungeon runs and flights. The page's data also carries the character's guild name.
- Nobody finds it by searching. Shared pages are kept out of search engines and out of our sitemap. On Discord or social media the link shows a preview card of the map.
- One link per character, and you can stop sharing any time: untick the box and the link stops working (a copy cached along the way can take a few minutes to clear, a preview card up to an hour). Ticking it again makes a new link.
- Links can be hidden. If an admin turns sharing off for an account (for abuse), its links stop working until it is turned back on; your page says so.
Your journey, your call. Recording stays on your PC until you turn sharing on, the website page is private until you share a link, and both can be turned off again. More on Your data. Map art © Blizzard Entertainment, used with permission.
