How Ley Maps fits together

Ley Maps is a few small pieces that hand data to each other: an addon in the game, a tray app on your PC, Ley Maps on our server, and the ways you get answers back out (the website, the Discord bot and guides in game). This wiki explains each one.

The pieces

  1. The addon records what the game shows you

Ley Maps notes quests, loot, vendors, trainers, professions, fishing, dungeon runs, flights and your character's state while you play. It also runs the in-game guide and its GPS. More about the addon.

  2. The tray app carries it to Ley Maps

When WoW saves the addon's notes (on /reload, logout or quit), the tray uploads what's new, keeps the addon up to date and brings your guides into the game. More about the tray app.

  3. Ley Maps turns everyone's notes into answers

Uploads from every player become drop rates, quest XP, clear times, maps and routes, each labelled with where it came from. Where answers come from.

  4. You ask, and get answers or a guide back

Ask on Discord or on the website. A leveling route can be sent straight to your character as an in-game guide. Asking Ley Maps.
