Where answers come from

Ley Maps never fills a gap from memory. Every answer says what our players saw, what a source claims, and what simply isn't known yet.

Our players first

What the addon recorded during real play on Forever is the strongest evidence Ley Maps has: real drop rates per corpse, the XP quests really paid, real clear times and real routes. Each observation keeps the game build it came from, so a later patch never overwrites an earlier one.

Then sources

Where our players haven't seen something yet, Ley Maps uses published sources, from Blizzard's own posts to guide writers and community databases, and ranks them by how trustworthy they are.

The labels

Label Means
VERIFIED Forever data: seen by our players, or stated by Blizzard for Forever
CLASSIC Classic-era data that Forever may have changed
ANECDOTE One player's report
UNVERIFIED Not confirmed yet

Claims that turn out to be false stay in Ley Maps marked as refuted, so the same mistake isn't repeated.

Maps and travel

The GPS's road network was drawn by hand over every zone and city map. Flight times come from flights our players really took; flight paths, docks, inns and town services come from the game client and Ley Maps' sources, and are corrected as players travel.
